I think that fireworks are really fun to watch and they shouldn't be banned, but fireworks shouldn't be sold to teenagers without an adult. It isn't fair that because some people are stupid with fireworks, other people can't use them

Are fireworks too dangerous?

Cheap fireworks called "air bombs" are being banned because they cause lots of accidents every year.
Do you think that fireworks are too dangerous for kids to use, or is the government over-reacting?
Do you think fireworks should only be used at organised displays and be banned for sale in shops?

Ending dangerous child labour in firework factories

Children in communities in Honduras were working long hours at the dangerous task of assembling fireworks, but a Plan project has helped to change attitudes of factory owners and parents.

History of Fireworkes

Fireworks was founded in 1982 as a magazine for firework history enthusiasts. It soon developed into a general magazine on all things fireworks, and includes news, views, and information. It is published twice yearly. One of its original aims was to ensure that old fireworks and firework memorabilia were not lost. Fireworks admirably continues that endeavour, publishing pages of colour pictures of fireworks which ensure that those who smelt the smoke before and during the forties, fifties, sixties and seventies are able, again, to enjoy seeing the fireworks of the past, and younger enthusiasts to see what they missed!

Environmental impact

Some fisherman have noticed and reported to environmental authorities that firework residues can hurt fish and other waterlife because some may contain toxic compounds such as antimony sulfide. This is a subject of much debate due to the fact that large-scale pollution from other sources makes it difficult to measure the amount of pollution that comes specifically from fireworks.

The Singapore fireworks celebration (previously the Singapore Fireworks Festival) is an annual event held in Singapore as part of its NATIONAL DAY celebrations. The festival features local and foreign teams which launch displays on different nights. While currently non-competitive in nature, the organizer has plans to introduce a competitive element in the future.

FIREWORK COLOR

Creating firework colors is a complex endeavor, requiring considerable art and application of physical science. Excluding propellants or special effects, the points of light ejected from fireworks, termed 'stars', generally require an oxygen-producer, fuel, binder (to keep everything where it needs to be), and color producer. There are two main mechanisms of color production in fireworks, incandescence and luminescence.

A firework is classified as a low explosive pyrotechnic device used primarily for aesthetic and entertainment purposes. The most common use of a firework is as part of a fireworks display. A fireworks event (also called a fireworks show or pyrotechnics) is a display of the effects produced by firework devices. Fireworks competitions are also regularly held at a number of places. Fireworks (devices) take many forms to produce the four primary effects: noise, light, smoke, and floating materials (confetti for example). They may be designed to burn with colored flames and sparks. Displays are common throughout the world and are the focal point of many cultural and religious celebrations
